Default Maintenance Light

How do you reset the Maintenance Required light. It never came on before with the original computer. I replaced the computer from ebay with a rebuilt and the light is on. 1992 Dakota V8 2wd. Thanks

I've heard you can reset it but touching the positive battery wire to the ground. Someone confirm this?

From what I remember and have read in the service manual, the maintenance required light just reminds you to maintain emissions systems stuff. (Such as, oxygen sensor, etc etc)
The proper way to extinguish the light is to use a DRB scan tool (proprietary Chrysler diagnostic tool, which is very expensive).
Otherwise, simply removing the light will work.

LOL! Ya my 93 stock computer never turned it on. Not even for the gauge check at startup.

But when I bought my Mopar Performance Computer it comes on at start up.
