Default Winshield wipers!!

my windshield wiper arms are spopping in random places when they are on. Sometimes they stop up on the windshield a little bit and other times it will go all the way down and hit the cowl. I was wondering if it could be the wiper motor or possibly the plastic bushing on the arms in the cowl? I have replaced those bushings twice before because the arms kept falling off. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

I could be wrong, but it sounds like the motor. If you don't know where it's located it's on the firewall. You could probably swap it out from a junkyard.

There is a control module that controls it. It may be the park control of it. So it may be malfunction. Or bad wires. Check the FAQ in this section for the service manual. It has a section just for the wipers.

Sounds like more of a motor issue than linkage, I'd do the motor check in that section and see if it functions properly.

I have looked in the FAQ but I couldnt find nothing on the windshield wipers. Like I said before I must have overlooked it. If someone knows where it is could you please post a link to it. Thanks in advance.

In the FSM section 8K.

This may help on just testing the motor.

thanks for the post. I will check it tomorrow sometime. They run fine in all the positions they just dont go back to the park position. They stop at various spots. It is mainly the passenger side that does all the crazy stopping. Thanks again for the help.
