ok so a while back i inherited sort of speak a truck from my dopehead (literally) brother and he never did get me the title and he has now dropped off the face of the earth like dopeheads usually do. the title is in his name and has no leins i have found that much out. the truck runs and drives fine. here comes the issue. my grandparents towed it to arkansas for him because he was to live on and operate the ranch they own up here but hes a dopehead so now hes gone lol but his truck is up here on the ranch in Arkansas it has texas plates and the title is texas but the truck is in arkansas. how the hell do i get a title for it and get tags so i can get the damn thing back to corpus. my truck is too small to tow it the only thing i could do is either sell it up here with or without a titile. or fly up or ride up with grandparents and drive it back or come up with an empty trailer behind my truck then use this truck to tow my truck back lmao.... either way it goes id really like to get a title any ideas??


btw the truck i inherited is a 1990 Dodge ram charger that up until now ive been usin to get around the ranch so i didnt have to walk. but this trip we picked up a couple of atvs and a john deere gator and a horse

 

ok first you apply for an abandoned title even though your grandparents brought the truck to Arkansas for your brother its on their property and its abandoned they will have to do this but it can be done.and i'm not sure how long this process is but I understand it can be lenghty if there are title probs like liens etc...hope this helps.BTW I live in Arkansas for more info just check with the Arkansas DFA you can find all you need there and download forms in pdf format....Boomer

 

the truck is in boone county......in harmon it literally is abandoned and there is no leins or anything so maybe it wont take too long. how do i go about doing this in arkansas? im not from here im from texas obviously so i dont know really what i need to do any help is greatly appreciated

 

Your best bet is to contact your local DMV office. They'll know the laws in your area better than anyone on here.

 

Or you could impersonate your dopehead bro and call the Texas DPS and tell them you lost your title and need a duplicate, and have them mail it to you. Might work, as long as your bro hasn't sold/traded the truck with no title to someone else in his various travels.

 

i dont think the impersonation thing will work cause they will tell me the local office i can go to get a copy of the title.....

 

Check the DPS Web site...you may be able to do it online.
