Lol, I know Dodge is notorious for some interesting electrical problems, but that one is kinda funny.

Unfortunately, electrical problems are near impossible to diagnose over the internet, so all I can really do is point you toward this section's faq page for FSM and wiring digram links. But I will say that you probably have a bad ground somewhere.

Service manuals
You can get Haynes. It is similar to Chilton's in price and material, it will run you $15 at most parts stores. For $19.00 you can get a full service manual on-line at https://www.alldatadiy.com/index.html http://www.autozone.com/shopping/repairGuide.htm
OR get the paper Full book at any dealership parts stores for $80. I got 1, I love it. Or http://www.helminc.com/helm/homepage.asp?r
OR here are a few sites that have some good manual stuff.

Not what your looking for? Keep in mind that if your truck is close to that year, it's wiring is probably similar. You can also try this Auto Zone web-page.

Sounds like a bad ground or power feed for the brake lights. And the reverse lights are shorting out on the other wires. Follow all the wires along the frame and all the way back.

check the switches too...i had a truck i just rewired cuz the license lamps were going with the turn signals. turned out the turn signals had a bad ground and were grounding out through the license plate lamps because the terminals on the switch were worn out

the turn signal switch is what i was referring to(i think some one referred to it as a control stalk? not entirely sure on the name though). but it sounds you have a bad ground for the brake lights and reverse lights. my dad told me that the electricity on running these applications will always look for the easiest route, even if it means grounding out through another set of lights to complete the current.
