Default Engine and bellhousing bolt patterns.

Can anyone tell me if the bellhousing bolt pattern from my 1995 3.9L NV3500 will bolt on to the back of my 1971 360 LA engine?

Yes it will. But the V6's came with the AX-15, which may not be able to handle the V8 power. HD clutches will help.

Here is a copy and paste from the FAQ in the 1st Generation Dakota sub-forum. Which this question should be asked. I will move it there.

1994 - 1996
L4 and V6 AX-15 5-speed
V8 NV3500 5-speed

Lol, he is talking about a manual transmission Crazy! No clutch packs!

But otherwise, Crazy is right, the '95 v6 came with an AX-15 behind it and won't stand up to the 360. There is really nothing you can do to make a manual transmission stronger... except maybe putting in straight cut gears, not that anyone makes them for an AX-15!

But if you know for a fact that your truck has an NV3500 in it (someone would have had to put that transmission in there themselves), then it will work fine.
