Default Wont start...

Hey everyone, I have a weird issue its got my pretty baffled.

I was driving my truck around and it started making kind of a weird noise when I was in a coasting speed about 1k - 1.2k rpm (5 speed) but it did it when it was in Nutral also.

After I parked it in a parking lot and looked at it, i check the pcv valve and vacuums and what not but nothing seemed bad (i replaced the valve anyway) and when I jumped in to start it it would not turn over.

That night about 6 hours later it started up, so I left it for morning, and sure enough it started but after it idled to warm it died and no starting up since than.. any ideas?

Ive checked the map, pcv, vacuums, everything i can test with a voltmeter..

I was thinking maybe the fuel pump but I dont know how to check that.

Lots of possibilities. Are you getting fuel pressers? Are you getting spark? There is a notorious wire splice that corrodes and cuts power to the relays. Check the FAQ in this section for pics on the splices. Did you check the relays?

wanna know if its the fuel pump its easy just get under the truck and pound on the tank a couple of times with your fist then try to start it if it starts odds are you got a bad pump.....mine did the same thing and drove me nuts cuz it did it at the supermarket in the rain I hit the tank a couple times and she fired right up.A week later the fuel pump gave up completely, just thought I would pass that along..

Or you can just turn the key to on...not cranking, but on and listen for the fuel pump whine as it gets power....no whiney, no startey, no runney.
