So i took the tailgate off the truck to try and get the dings out of it and then i needed to go to the store so off i go and i hear a clang on the way back so i stop and look and there is a hinge that attaches the tailgate to the truck but the problem is there is only ONE any idea where i can buy a pair or anyone got some extras?

 

have you tried the local auto store they might have one or a pair, otherwise a junkyard would have them...

oh and im not 18 so i cant pull from a junk yard and dodge had discontinued it and the auto part store dose not carry it so im kinda stuck

 

That sucks man, the other one your missing has like a "slot" it's not perfectly circular like that one. you'll know it when you see it. I think salvage yard is your only option on this one.

 

unless you can fins someone parting out a truck. it might be the same for the all the trucks...never know

 

well i found some one selling a tailgate for 40$ but he would not just sell me the hinges and i dont want another tail gate

 

try summitracing.com. they sell some random stuff. if don't mind waiting for them or have a summit store closeby.

 

Is there no one that can go with you to a scrap yard? your dad, cousin, friend? You could always go to walmart and get a tail gate net for $20?

 

that takes the fun out of it...jk

 

if I'm not mistaken thats the right hinge you lost just tell the salvage guys thats what you need most junk yards will pull it for you its a little more but you get the part
