People with true duals...
I assume you are asking about a y-pipe with a bigger diameter?
If thats the case, in all the time I've spent under my truck, I think I can say with fair certainty that the two biggest problems you will run into are 1) the crossmember right under the y-pipe that houses the sway bar mounts will get in the way and 2) the driveshaft will get in the way. If you notice on our y-pipes, there is a dent for the driveshaft.
Otherwise, the Rams have bigger diameter exhaust tubing for their y-pipe, and I think the '92 and '93 Dakotas do as well.
The reason I'm getting one custom made is because I need the tubes to be bent different to clear the 3rd link of the 3 link and I need the y-pipe to dump out at a higher point to go above my new crossmember. I'll probably end up getting it made out of bigger tubing though just for the heck of it!

Thats half-assed why I ask, Shadow, cause I've seen under my moms 95 Blazer and my friends 98 Silverado and there pipes run exactly like you said, kinda by the crossmember like our trucks. So I got the idea of replacing the y-pipe or just running true dual from there like my friend with the Silverado.
And 95, I planned on just buying a 2" or 2.5" Magnaflow y-pipe or something and having it welded in. I believe that the crossmember would be the only problem cause it looks like I've got enough clearance by the driveshaft, though it would be tight. But maybe I'm wrong. Either way, I'll at least look at my dads old 97 Silverado and my moms Blazer to see if I could somehow find a way to do a custom job, maybe with a bit of their exhaust lol.
