Default Summer upgrades to commence soon!

Well now that my GTR is almost on the road again (once my damn engine computer shows up from z-tune they have horrible service said it would take 14 days it has been over 40 now) anyways...

I am planning to do som major work to my "winter beater"
I am planning to:

Swap the engine to a 408 stoker (this will be the first engine i build exciting! Anyone have some books to recommend? going from my 350hp car to my truck with an underpowered v6 was depressing ) with a NV4500 transmission (thanks to the person that gave me the info that this would bolt up!)

Remove the box paint the rear half of the frame and grind/sand/wirebrush away the rust (it's quite minor but easier to fix now) Paint the entire exterior a dark dark blue and replace the ugly red interior with the blue one from a junk yard.

Replace seals in my front diff that are leaking

Chase down all my wiring issues (cab light and ring where the key light goes wont turn off dash light wont turn on lol had to remove some bulbs)

2 inch body lift (needed to fit the NV4500 thanks to the person that told me that! can't remember who)

Make a roof rack (may put my spare up here), box toolbox, rear bumper, front bumper (just got a welder and thought after this i should be mediocre at it )

That't what i am planning to do i should start ripping into the truck mid may (assuming the tranny clutch flywheel swap went well in my car haven't had a chance to test it damn z-tune) i will be sure to take a lot of pictures!

Hopefully this will keep me nice and busy over the summer.

any recommendations if something else should take priority would be great! i already did a fair amount of maintence to the truck (rebuilt the rear diff with the help from a bunch of people here)

Cool! There are always plans for upgrades.

Defiantly do the 408. If I remember right there are a few articles in the FAQ2 on it. Do a good write up for us.

A few write ups on the NV4500 in the FAQ2 as well if needed more into.

For the wiring you can download the wiring diagrams which are in the service manual from the FAQ. This will be your best friend!

All the upgrades you do, make sure you write it up and post up pics.

Well about time for an update unfortunately my engine is going to be put on hold right now as I had a little meeting with a curb that required most of that money for rims and suspension parts for my car (don't ask).

I am still planning to do the painting and bumpers I started stripping some paint off with a chemical stripper here are some pics.

Here is the rust that was hiding under my fender flares

The paint starting to bubble

After the first application I expected this stuff to take off the primer aswell but seems like it only takes off the paint works for me as the paint is all that was peeling
