Default 1 more project to add to my list of projects...

today i went to readjust my brakes, because as we pushed the truck back into the garage the brakes kept adjusting tighter and tighter. well i pulled the left rear hub off and cleaned it out readjusted it and sprayed the hub with wd-40 as a rust preventative, and then came the horror. i pulled the right rear hub off and found what looked like a rock in the hub and the adjuster was loose. i thought it was a little weird so i cleaned it out and soaked the brake in the last of my brakleen. after taking a closer look at the hub and the brake assy i notice that my hub is badly gashed and my brake shoes (literally) exploded.

in my opinion the problem resulted from a leaky wheel cylinder that was replaced last october or winter?

i hate doing drum brakes, anybody in wisconsin want to do them for me?

i have pics if anybody is intrested in seeing what they look like just have to find my camera cord.

and by the way after getting the new flywheel installed the truck runs like i just bought it off the lot...crappy...jk it runs like brand new. now to rebleed teh clutch another 50x.

Drum brakes aren't that bad! Just use the other side as a reference guide while your putting them back together!

LOL! Didn't I say from the beginning you probably used the wrong flywheel?!?! :P

yeah i must have been extremly tired or somethuing because the old flywheel had 9 (slots) on it. the last time i did rear drums was last thursday and with 2 of us it took about 2 hours to do 1 brake assembly.

but the reason i'm hating this 1 is because mothers day is coming up and i wanted to get my ma something special since she's looking at what was thought to be an ulcer but turned out to be a possible case of cancer. and with the way her mood is today i'm fearing the worst.
