Default clutch problems

i picked up a new clutch line yesterday for a gm. I installed it today and bled it a couple times. now its only disengaging half way.

the only reason i replaced the line is because the other one stuck to the exhaust and melted. the gm clutch line is the closest match we have to the ones we have already. the only difference is the ends of the connectors are flared(like the brake lines)

LOL!! I read it right before I logged off last night but didn't want to get into it at the time :P

So the master cylinder is the same, the slave cylinder is the same, but the line is new and is a GM line?

Is it the same inner diameter as the factory line?

yes. the only difference is besides the ends being flared is that half the line is metal

I would say its a bleeding issue then. I can't think of any other reason it wouldn't work.

well today, just for the halibut, i started the truck in gear with the pedal pressed. the clutch disengaged and the truck started right up no problem. i put her in neutral and released the pedal but when i pressed the pedal again i couldn't get it to go into gear because the clutch wouldn't disengage. could it be one of the cylinders on the line?

Lol, here's what you need to do at this point in time... take out the hydraulic system, go to a dealership and buy a new one. It comes as an assembled, prebled unit. Just install it and start driving the truck.

The clutch hydraulic system they put on these trucks was never designed to be taken apart or serviced at all for that matter. It really seems to me at this point that you've lost any hope of recovering it.

i was going to do that originally, but i'm not sure i can afford it, if i did go for it then i wouldn't be able give my ma her mothers day gift. we'll see though since i did some work on my neighbors car and he recommended me to his relative who owns an autoshop and all his friends so i guess i'm the hood's auto shop now...lol
