Default Periodic Squeak

Hi guys,

I am new to these forums, and I love my '95 Dodge Dakota!

I have a question: For the past few weeks, I have noticed a periodic squeaking sound coming from what seems to be the front passenger side...

I inspected the brakes and they are nearly new...so I cleaned up the rotors and brakes with brake cleaner, but it still squeaks!!!

Any help or suggestions?

Welcome to DF.

It could be anything. Suspension to brakes to engine. Its hard to say what it can be without hearing it, we are only on the internet. Does it squeak only when braking? Does it do it only on bumps? Does it do it only when you turn? Does it follow engine speed?

I suggest trying trying to fugue out when it squeaks. If it is a suspension squeak try spaying WD-40 on all your suspension parts that move, do it one by one till you find what squeaks.

squeak? mice?
get old like me and you won't hear any more squeaks....

Like Crazy says, need more info, what is happening to produce the squeak? Are you applying the brakes? Turning the steering wheel?

It happens all the time while I am moving and not when brakes are applied (it seems).

At first, I thought it may have been a cotter-pin that was sticking straight down near my rim, but did it did not fix the squeak...

Have you checked the various belt pullys? Try taking the belt off and starting the engine and see if its still there.
