Default Anyone ever rebuild auto transmission?

Alright, I have been having a on going saga with my 95 3.9L Dakota. I have finally sorted out all my ignition problems I was having ( missing the ground strap ) but now it seems the junk yard tranny is a piece of junk or I have the wrong one for my truck. Only noticeable difference between one from truck and replacement was the torque converter was notched on sides instead of standard cut outs like majority of converters. Also front output shaft had some funny wear marks like a converter wobbling on it. I was wondering if anyone ever rebuilt one of these or has a write up of it. I'm pretty good at following the manual but every bit helps.

It is not hard if all you need are clutches. The rebuild manual is in the FAQ. As well as the factory service manual.

I wish I knew how to rebuild the tranny. I have done a lot in terms of engine work, but sadly no kowledge on the trans rebuild. I enjoy working on my trucks so for me the time is not an issue, especially to know its done right. My brother, along with many others in here have had horror stories of bad trans rebuilds done by different shops....not to say any names....aamco

not to mention to do a rebuild would cost more than a used replacement. you could probably buy 2 tranny's for less than it costs to rebuild one.

that is assuming that you are not doing the work yourself*
