Default AC issues

ok a couple issues....

First off the ac doesnt blow very strong. not sure why. But my guess is the cabin air filter has never been changed that i know of in the past 4 years. so im sure that has alot to do with it. anyone know where it is??

Also could there be another factor in the Air not blowing strong??

The other thing is the climate controls the settings for dash and lower leg vents dont stay pushed in they come right back out.... any one know a fix for that?

also if i turn the ac off and the blower off i can still feel warm air coming out of the vents. is the heater core still open or somethign? that could cause my ac to not cool properly..

any ideas thanks guys its 102 here with 95 percent humidity. i need help!

The heater core is always circulating coolant. But the vent doors are suppose to be closed. So the hot air doesn't get through. You may want to see if your doors are closing properly.

If I remember right there is no cabin air filter. There is like a small foam filter in the middle of the dash at the bottom, that might be the only kind of thing.

Like Crazy said, there is no filter in these rigs.

When you say blowing strong, do you mean speed wise. Like if you put it on high, it doesn't feel like its on high? Have you checked or replaced the fan resistor pack lately?

The only fix that I know for this one is to replace the whole cluster. I paid $5 for mine at a u-pull lot.

Again...like Crazy said, there is always coolant running through the heater core. The issue may lie in the broken controls. If you are still feeling warm air coming from the vents, the door is not shutting properly or at all. Could just be a cable too.

any ideas thanks guys its 102 here with 95 percent humidity. i need help!

STILL NEED HELP!!!!!

First off when I got the truck the AC was blowing hot and i was told it just needed a charge. So i got the stuff to charge it and realized it was R12 so i converted it to R134A via the fittings and i didnt vaccum it or anything I just charged it and it worked for about a year and the freon leaked out. So a month or two ago I charged it again.

Now it blows cold but i think it could blow colder and i would like it to blow harder

You guys tell me there is no cabin filter so i can rule that out

Today I got the windows tinted so i am sure that will help.

also this weekend I am going to power wash with soap the condensor i waas told that will make a 5-10 degree difference in itself.

Anything else i could check?

One person told me the drier then someone else told me dont remove the drier unless it is broke.

then i have heard the expansion valve etc...

The only thing that is pricey is the compressor (300 bucks ) but it is not bad

and the condensor is 150 which im not against paying but if i can avoid it i would like to

the drier and expansion valve are both under 20 bucks.

any ideas or anything? Also the fan resistor should i look into that??

let me clarify just in case cuz i really need some help with this. The temperature of the air coming out of the vents is not an issue it is at least 15-20 degrees colder than the ambient temperature. But the strength of the air blowing is not strong at all! even on max the blower sounds like it is puttin it work but its like blowing on low

Have you checked the vacuum lines and blend doors behind the control console in the dash? Sounds like it's not opening a blend door, cause you said the fan sounds like its running on High. The blend doors are vac operated I believe.

I removed the cover for the blower to clean it out and I was pulling out giant piles of lint and other stuff. The fan blades had an inch of crap on them too. Now it blows 5x harder and doesn't smell bad. You might want to check it out.
