Welcome to DodgeForum!

What kind of radio? Is it an aftermarket cd player, or a different factory radio?

If its aftermarket, it should be labled what each wire is for. Just buy one of these...

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1207018...s.html?tp=2977

You can probably find it even cheaper at Walmart, but really, $10 and its color coded to the wires coming out of the aftermarket unit and then plugs right in.

If its another factory unit, you need to review the wire diagrams...

Wiring Diagrams:
1990 Dodge Dakota(PDF, 5.6MB) http://rapidshare.com/files/20549398...ota_wiring.pdf

1994 wiring diagrams (non-Chrysler made), PDF, 1.4MB http://rapidshare.com/files/15954448...omplete_1_.pdf

1995 wiring diagrams, PDF, 6.8MB http://rapidshare.com/files/205477308/1995_AN_WIRE.pdf

1996 wiring diagrams, PDF, 6MB http://rapidshare.com/files/205480159/1996_AN_WIRE.pdf

http://www.the12volt.com/ (Radio wires)

http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/ (Car alarm/ remote starter wires)

Not what your looking for? Keep in mind that if your truck is close to that year, it's wiring is probably similar. You can also try this Auto Zone web-page.

i have a '91 too. go buy the harness thing from walmart, it plugs into the stock plugs then has wires to connect to the cd player, easiest thing ever, wish i would have known they made those for my other vehicles

That would probably be easiest. One of those links I gave you listed the radio wires and what they do...

http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/...etail/694.html

... but the colors don't match what you listed!

So solder the old harness back on, buy the adapter like I linked above (like previously said, you can pick them up from walmart)...

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1207018...s.html?tp=2977

... and solder it to your radio connector and then it plugs right into the factory harness.
