Default Won't Start

Earlier today, I put now grounds on my fog lights and I pulled the disributor cap off to check it, looked fine so i put it back on (didnt touch rotor at all) and now it wont start.
Heres what I have checked
  • Im getting spark
  • I can smell fuel in the TB
  • Checked the plug wires about 8-10 times
  • No Idiot light codes
  • Checked all plugs, etc (found one unplugged but not sure if it was before ill put pic up of it at end of this)
The symptoms are
  • Turn the key and it just rotates like theres no spark
  • When I turn the key, it rotates and then when i stop turning the key it fires maybe 2-4 times
Any Ideas what to check?
Im gonna have my dad dig in deeper with me tomorrow

That is the diagnostic connector. You hook up a code reader or scanner to it. It is normal for it to just be hanging there. It is not the source for your problem.

Since you messed with the distributor it sounds like you messed up some wires or the spark plug wires. Maybe hooked up the coil wire to one of the plugs instead of the center of the cap. Check your plug wire locations.

double checked the wires, their in the correct order
checked the grounds I messed with, their fine
checked the ignition coil, it sparks

but when I took the cap off, the "points" inside of it were a little dirty (like corrosion) so i took a wire brush to those

time to go check the wires for spark...

I'm guessing the rotor is no longer making contact with the points. I don't know what condition your plugs & wires are in but maybe think about replacing them, the cap & rotor. Also make sure you have the proper firing order. Check your battery terminals are clean and have good connection, check/charge your battery.
