I decided to bleed and adjust my rear brakes today. Now the ABS and parking brake lights are on. When I press on my brakes there is always a spot about 1/3 of the way down when I feel a click in the pedal. When it gets past that spot the lights go off until I release the pedal. The brakes work fine and the pedal is stiffer than before so I don't think I did anything wrong. Any idea what the problem is?
I also have an EGR system failure code that pops up every once in a while. I cleaned the egr valve and tested it. The valve works fine but the light still comes on. What else can be causing the code?

I for got to add this
95 dakota slt
rear wheel abs with 9" drums

It sounds to me like you didn't bleed the brakes correctly or they aren't adjusted correctly.

What procedure did you use for bleeding and adjusting and how tight did you make them?

I did it the same way i always did, have someone pump the brakes a few times and hold, then open the bleeder, close it and repeat.
I just turned the adjuster thingy inside the drum until they just started to drag. The shoes really need to be replaced. In about a month or two I'm going to replace all the brake lines and pretty much everything on the rear brakes...

BRAKE WARNING LAMP
The brake warning lamp gives the driver an indication that the parking brake is applied, or that the pressures in the two halves of the split brake hydraulic system are unequal. With the ignition switch turned to the On or Start positions, battery voltage is supplied to one side of the indicator bulb. A ground path for the bulb is provided by three switches. The bulb will light when:
† The ignition switch is in the Start position (bulb test).
† The brake warning switch is closed (indicating unequal split brake hydraulic system pressures, due to low brake fluid or brake fluid leakage).
† The parking brake switch is closed (indicating the parking brake is applied).
Refer to Group 5 - Brakes for more information.

and

RED BRAKE WARNING LAMP
The red brake warning lamp is connected to the parking brake switch and to the pressure differential warning switch in the combination valve. The red light illuminates for approximately 2-4 seconds at engine start up. This is a self test feature designed to check bulb operation. The red warning lamp illuminates when the parking brake is applied. It also illuminates if a fluid pressure drop occurs in either the front or rear brake hydraulic circuit. A pressure drop moves the valve in the combination valve toward the low pressure side. When the valve moves it pushes the pressure differential switch contact plunger upward. This closes the contacts and completes the circuit to the lamp. The lamp will remain on until repairs are made and normal fluid pressure is restored.

Sounds like it needs to be bleed again.

I replaced a caliper on my 01 Durango the other week and I just got the same ABS/Brake light combo on the dash. Could it be the same, that I did not bleed the system properly?
