Hurst Short Throw Shifters??
I can't seem to find anyone selling a hurst short throw shifter for a dodge dakota with nv3500. Do they even make them anymore. I have googled it and ebay search and found nothing. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
It seems like all your posts are about the shifter. One guy gave you a link. Here is your old post. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...need-help.html
Like everyone in all your posts says look at www.summitracing.com
And if that is not the shifter you have been looking for I guess your Out of luck. Custom making one is your only choice.
That question is getting old!

mr gaskets sells them i just did some research on it and they are the same between the chevys and the dakotas (since they use the same trans) the only difference being (maybe) the interior.
I remembered that question kept on coming up. I checked his old posts through his profile, to see if it is the same guy. And sure enough it is. He posted that same exact question 10-20 times. (Almost quite literally). That post I posted up was his first post on that question. (A lot of posts!) It was the first post I clicked.

LMAO!!! Get this Felipe... the first time he posted this question was a year ago to date down to an hour!!
Guess you should have bought it the first time you asked!!
But lets go back to your original post...
I assume this is still your problem? That the shifting is sloppy? A short throw shifter only changes the ratio of the shift tower... in other words it changes the pivot point. Shorter throws means less leverage and more effort to shift. IIRC, Hahns5.2 had a Hurst short throw shifter on his nv3500 and took it off because he didn't like it and realized he could actually shift faster with the factory shifter.
So with that said, if all you want it for is to firm up the shifting, sorry, but its not going to do it. What is wrong is the shift gates in your transmission are worn out. It has nothing to do with the shift tower. You need a to rebuild your shift gates.

Ive got a 1996 Dodge Dakota 5.2L with the NV3500. The shifting is starting to get sloppy. What bushings and all will I need to replace to get the tightness back and where can I get them. Im considering getting a short throw shifter, just wondering wheres a good cheap place to find them. Thanks

Yeah the only thing worse than what I have done is the fact that yall remember my post and do searches on them And yall would go through this much trouble to bring it up. Who cares? Plus I figured I might get some better answers this time. Well looks I was wrong.
