Default Rough Idle within 5 seconds of starting--- then fine.

So my truck has a problem starting. It rarely ever just fires right up... you're holding the key in the start position for 3-5 seconds every time and once it does start it usually has a rough idle for another 3-5 seconds.

When it's idling roughly like that, the gas pedal doesn't do anything for the RPM's as the engine starves to stay alive.

Does this sound like the fuel pump on it's way out? or an IAC or throttle control valve or what?

It could very well be the IAC. A frozen IAC can cause some odd problems. It could also need a tune up. Unlikely that its a fuel pump problem. Could be clogged injectors though. It could also be a bad MAP sensor or TPS. But replacing the IAC would definately be the place to start. Also maybe put in some injector cleaner.

It's the IAC opening too far, mine did it pretty bad with the stock PCM, sounded like a lumpy cam for 5-10 seconds on a cold start, with the Mopar PCM it'll sometimes do it for a couple seconds, nothing really to worry about so I've never bothered trying to fix it.
