Default Coolant Leak at Firewall

I have a '92 Dakota with V6 and AT. Nice truck, just bought it to replace my tired '96 4x4 with 200K+ miles. I have noticed that after I drive to work in the morning with my heater on, there is a large puddle of water sitting under the truck near the passenger side firewall. On further investigation, it's coming from a small (3/8"-1/2") open ended L-shaped hose on the firewall near where the heater core facing down. It has a steady drip for about 10-15 minutes after I shut it off and then stops. When I drive home w/o the heater there is no leak. Looked thru the factory manual and couldn't find anything obvious. Anyone out there know what's going on here???

Thanks, Curt

I'm guessing you are talking about the condensation drain tube. In humidity the AC/Heater system can build up condensation and the drain tube lets it out. So as long as this is the tube you are talking about it is fine. And as long as it is clear water type of fluid and not green coolant its all good in the hood.

Thanks, that's exactly what it is. I was just concerned that it seemed like an unusual amount (I drive about 25 miles to work) that was leaking, but it is clear. If it ever turns green, would that be a bad heate core or something along those lines?
