Default 3.9L exhaust questions

Hi - I have a 1993 Dodge Dakota front clip grafted into a 1952 Dodge Fargo truck. Fairly easy project so far...

I had to move the motor forward about 1 inch and now the old V6 exhaust manifold doesn't fit. if the downtube was 1 inch further back it would work.

So - Can I get manifolds from another Dodge vehicle - are there other vehicles which use the same V6 engine?

Is the engine I have (1993 V6) the same model as in other trucks - like 1988-1999 Daks? Or the Dodge Ram?

I could buy exhaust headers and cut them up. Does anybody know if headers are still available for the 1993s? Anyone know if tehy are a tad longer? I suspect not but you never know.

Thanks

FargoMan

Cool! Post up tons of pictures. It sounds like you need to extend you exhaust pipe to fit the motor.

The problem is that with the motor moved forward the downtube now hits the upper arm of the front suspension.

So I need a manifold or header that goes further back as it were - one where the downtube is set 1 inch back (at least).

Again any data anyone has, as to my above questions, is much appreciated.

Oh ok. I don't think anything stock will fit. You may have to make your own headers or modify some existing ones.

The V6 Magnum like yours came from 92-02. Rams Vans and Dakotas.
For V6 headers try the FAQ2 in this section there is a link. Or www.hughesengines.com or www.summitracing.com
