Ok, i have a 96 dakota slt, originally 3.9 .....bought a 5.9 out of 97 ram 2500 4x4....usin my 3.9 harness and addin the extra two wires for injectors...which pins on my ecm and which color wires do i add to the ecm?? I know two wires loop in with the other injectors......here are some pics of my mess in progress!!lol

I personally don't know much about the wiring harness differences. Are the transmissions the same or does the 5.9 need the 518 trans? Glad you are going to keep us posted and good luck with the swap.

yes the 5.9 will need the v8 transmission the v6 trans won't last long under torque of the v8

Cool! The FAQ2 has an article from Mopar Action Magazine that did that swap on a 96. They give details. I bet it says what pin number the injectors are. Or you can look at the 96 manual we have in the FAQ2 in this section.

I have a guy that built a 700r4 for my wife staywag a few years back, he is AWESOME!! He says he can build my 42re to hold anything i can throw at it... Which will come in handy when i add the WHIPPLE CHARGER!!!!

i am goin for mock up at this point and im noticing that the drivers side frame mount needs to be moved rearward to get the motor and trans to line up.

This body style really works well with the hemi my coworker put one in his and then sold it to my father in law when he almost killed himself hot rodding it around. ill get pics if anyone want some
