Default No Spark when Hot. Suggestions please*UPDATE*

This just started about 4 days ago. It runs fine for about 30 minutes then it just shuts off. I swapped the coil pack, computer, pick-up coil in the dizzy. Still the same results, will not start until it's cooled down. I've already cut out the notorius splice and rewired it, swapped out relays, still the same thing. I'm beginning to think maybe a temp sensor might be crapping out. I'm getting codes 11 & 54. Thoughts anyone?

Have you checked the coil wire. I had a similar issue and it was the coil wire rubbing up against the block. The outer sheathing was burned away and when it got hot (the wire) it lost spark. That only took about 2 or 3 mins though until I screwed with it, then it would not start at all.

Code 11 has something to do with the timing and the 54 is a cam sensor. Go here to verify that.

Hope that helps.

I would make sure to have the code pulled from the car. Dodge has a nasty way of displaying Cam Position Sensor code and the Crank Position Sensor is the one wrong. It will display cam but when pulled from the car it will say crank. The crank position sensor tells the car position and rotational speed of the crank. When it gets hot because it is bad, it stops transmitting and thus your car wont know what piston to fire next so it dies and wont restart till the car has cooled down. Just my .02 cents. Best of luck.

Thanks for the replies, I'll try those out and report back my findings.

OK, I swapped out the crank angle sensor. Finally got to run a 70 mile trip without worrying about being late. It ran like a champ again. So thanks a million, blacksunshine.
