Hi I'm looking for a manual transmission for a 91 dakota 4x4. Does anyone out there want to sell one or know where I can get one for cheap.

Does anyone know which other years are also possible to swap for this transmission?

It also needs a new clutch...bummer huh?

I love in Alberta, Canada close to the Montana border which makes a shipped transmission fairly easy to pick -up.

dbilik has a v8 one for sale. check the classifieds on the main forum page at the bottom. i htink he has it for $700, not sure though.

a ram transmission would work, that's what i have in my truck.

 

Hey Shadowthedakota, any idea what tranny from the ram would work with my dakota? I'm wondering if it would be easier to find. The manual 91 4x4 dakota has been a beast to find.

 

i got mine out of 96' ram, but its a v8 trans, which after rereading my last post i forgot that the transfer case might not work. iirc, 94+ v6 rams had the nv3500 as well as the v8's, but the shifter has to be modified to to clear the dash when shifting.

you have a v6 dakota right?

for the v6 any manual trans out of any dakota should work, iirc, the 4cyl's had the same manual trans.
