Default Ignition Lock Cylinder Retrofit?

I'm going to do some serious researching on this, but if anybody here knows it'd save me a lot of time.

Every vehicle I've ever driven with a manual transmission had a lock on the lock cylinder on the ignition switch. You could not turn the key to the lock position and remove the key without pressing the release. My truck doesn't have one. Is there any way to retrofit such a device onto my truck?

I would think you would have to swap in a lock and maybe the whole column from some other vehicle with that release lock.

Why do you want it so bad anyways? I always hated those release buttons.

I suppose it's research time, then. No way am I going to just up and swap out a steering column. I'm up for projects, sure, but... Doing that to fix a small issue would be like trying to kill a mouse with a gatling gun.

1. I recently found a good reason to have one.
2. Pulse-and-glide is a lot easier and a lot safer if you have one.
