im pretty sure this is the ecu but why does it have a intake tube thing on it?

and can i use the stock dizzy with a msd 6al box and blaster coil? or does the ecu control timing? if so whats the wiring? are their performance dizzys?

it has a miss in it and im trying to elminate everything by throwing new parts at it haha.

oh and im 98% sure i have a LA block i see a blocked off hole for the mech fuel pump on the passenger side of the timing cover. im kinda dissapointed in that.

it is the ecu and the intake runs to it to keep it cool. they did this to older cars and turbo'd cars. and those things are (i believe) valves? not entirely sure on that

I read in my Haynes manual that those 3 little doodads in your second pic are solenoids for the anti-polution and EGR systems.They may be important.

removing the emissions equipment is a bad idea. As far as the intake to the pcm you could take it off, but you might run the risk of frying it although I doubt it.
