Exclamation Power windows/locks install ideas..

I'm thinkin' of installing power windows/locks.. But, I wanna make a custom center console and have the switches in it. This is how I'm thinkin' of doin' it:

Get everything needed for the "power" swap from a donor Dakota. Get the center console panel switches from a car that has that option. Then extend the wires to the new switches and wire 'em up...

I'm just not sure on the compatibilty of 2 diffirent makes with wiring the switches in!?!

Also, I'm gonna shave my door handles and install door poppers. Should I just leave the door locks "manual" or wire 'em up for power?

Thanx

Yes anything is possible. Take off the electronics and wires. You can customize the switch holders and extend the wires. The FAQ in this section has the service manual that has full wiring diagrams that will be your best tool. That would be cool. Post up pics if you do it.

I put PW in my 90. I bought an aftermarket kit been 17 years ago they are still working. I put the up/down switches in the front face of the center console. I took power off the drivers side seat belt buzzer wire that runs up to the buckle. Did not care about PL..
