speedodmeter not working

Default speedodmeter not working

So i was driving back from home to college when my odometer was reaching 119,000 on my dodge dakota and my speedodmeter and odometer both stop working!?!! moneys tight anyone got a clue what it could be?

Check fuses 1st
rest of the gauges working?
warning lights in the panel working?
possible the connector on back side of gauges worked loose??

First what year is your truck? If it is 93-down it will be the cable. If 94-up the sensor or wires.

Its a 92 2wd the rest of my gauges do work its just the speedometer and mileage are not working

It will most likely be your cable. Just replace it. Napa was $20 I think.

Leads me to believe it may be the gauge cluster itself is dying.

Question

Mine isn't working either but it's a 95 and I've replaced the VSS to no avail. Haven't checked wire yet, but there is no speedo cable on a 95, right? I've got other things needed to be fixed up before I worry how fast I'm going though.
