To replace the wheel cylinder, not much, 2 bolts and the brake line. Make sure you lube the line and use a line wrench so you don't strip the hex or twist the line in two.
Yes, yo have to bleed the air from the wheel cylinders when you are done. I would open the new bleeders before installing, then close them finger tight. I just had a reman caliper that someone torqued the bleeder so tight I broke it off trying to loosen it.
Also I would replace both rears since they only cost $10-15 each.
If you are so inclined you can rebuild them yourself. There are just 2 o-rings, 2 dust caps and a spring. Kits can be $5 each. Clean them well and emery the inside so it is smooth with no nicks or rough spots.
Most times they fail because they rust from moisture in the fluid or the o-ring becomes brittle and leaks.

I just did mine on my passenger side, it was leaking really bad, and I did my shoes while I was in there as well. Didn't bother rebuilding the cylinder, just stole a couple from the junkyard. I can send you one if you like. The process is pretty easy, and yeah those brake shoes can be a pain but after I took about 2 hours getting one side right, the other side fell right together in about 10 minutes. It just takes a little patience and attention to process. A good manual always helps.
Good luck!
