Default Bad Trans fluid Leak

Ok I just had my transmission rebuilt in march of this year. When I got it back I put a trans cooler and bypassed the radiator like 4 different shops told me to do.(when my rebuilder told me this it sounded fishy so I called around to make sure) and now my wife comes home today and says the truck is actin weird so I check the trans fluid and its bone dry. I have it on ramps right now and it looks like its coming out of the torque converter plate.. What could be the cause of this and do you think my tranny is fried she said it started actin funny(which I guess shes tryin to say that it was slippin) about 15-20 miles away.. It still goes in all gears and pulls and the fluid doesnt smell burnt.. So is my tranny saveable or am I gonna have to go for yet another rebuild? Oh and its my 89 3.9 v6 4wd

Most likely a bad input seal. Or bad case seal. It will need to be completely removed to replace it. Do all the seals and O-rings all over. When one fails another is not to far behind.

I figured I was gonna have to pull it.. Do you think the tranny is saveable or you think I'll have to do another rebuild? Why did the seal bust when it was just rebuilt 7 months ago? Also is there a post of the tranny r & r on here?

A full rebuild is best. Who knows why it busted, maybe it was not replaced. Check the FAQ in this section for the service manual that will give your compete details on a R&R.
