Tranny flush with new filter of course, rotated the tires, and replaced the IAC. Let me just say, a noticeably smoother ride even with a bad ball joint. No change in idle from the IAC. But no more clunk into reverse, no more hard shifting, and found that crap ton of lost torque thats for sure!!! I used to have to actually try and make em squeal sometimes but now its hard not to! And I smoked em real good for the first time ever the other day. Of course, I wasn't ever really trying before cause I knew I needed that flush so I didn't wanna push it and I don't wanna burn up my aggressive *** tires before winter..or at all lol. But just thought I'd give an update. BTW, how hard to replace the rear u-joints on these trucks? Done it before, just not on a Dakota.

its quite easy to replace them...i had to about 4 times in the last 2yrs(they get expensive real fast after the first time). just like any other rwd or 4wd car/truck

 

Just be sure your driveshaft yoke is in good shape.I had to replace the rear u-joint on mine,only to find that the previous owner had beaten the crap out of the aluminum shafts yoke to replace it before.Wound up getting a scrapyard steel driveshaft and another u-joint to fit it.
