Im confused now, is she talking about the tack or the speedo? lol Either way it wont hurt her tranny.

I've seen this in a lot of civics too. Usually it's a sign the ignitor is going and 99 percent of the time a dist swap fixes it. Good luck

My bad, I got the two confused. Crazy is correct. (as usual )

(mine does the same thing but is a 93)

SOLVED! It was the negative wire (the larger one) coming from the battery, and attached to the back of the power steering reservoir (pump?). It finally fell off. Of course, truck wouldn't start....just 'tick-tick-tick-tick' when trying to start.

Ended up reattaching the wire somewhere else (no nut to fit the original bolt).

Started right up, no more tach jumping.
