Default rear brakes size

I have a 95 Dakota 4cy.

Going to be doing rear brakes. I was wondering if finding out the rear brake size (9 or 10 inches) is as simple as measuring the hub.
If so, do I measure the front or back.

Thanks,
Hutch

My guess for the 4cly will be 9in. I believe you will measure the inside diameter.

You can do what I do and buy both sets and take back whichever doesn't fit, lol. I always forget which size mine has.

Two other ways to check to see what is you got is.
1. Check the sticker under the hood. I believe it lists what size brakes you got.
2. Get a build sheet from Dodge. Check the FAQ for how to.

Just take the real tire off and drum, measure the inside diameter.

Well... got the driver side completed. Took lots of pic's before. After I had everything back together I realized that I put it together wrong. In the picture you can see the round ring is in front of the two spring clamps. When putting it back together I put the round ring on first. Guess I'll be doing it all over again. Couldn't do the other side. Can't seem to get the stupid wheel off!

For the other side you may need to stick in a thin screwdriver and adjust down the ratcheting mechanism. There is a rubber grommet on the back side covering the access hole.

I think you have it okay. In the service manual it is not direct on the outside.

Hey, thanks for that image of the brakes. It's good to know about the ring thing on the adjuster cable thing.
Couple of questions if you could answer for me.
Why would I need to go ahead and adjust the passenger side?
And whats the purpose of that adjuster piece?
Thanks....Hutch

Sorry I read it wrong. I thought you said you couldn't get the drum off.
