Need advice on an adhesive/sealant for topper boot.
I have a boot in front of my camper shell where about an 8" section has slipped down from the top edge of the fiberglass shell. I can push it back up and it'll stay in the groove for a bit, but it's certainly not a "fix."
I'm looking for some kind of adhesive/sealant/caulk or something I can get at Lowe's to adhere the boot properly. Any ideas from you guys?
On further inspection, the boot has a metal spring clip insert in the boot of which the loose section has rusted out. I just need a new boot. The seal to the shell everywhere else is good.....oh well. Good time for me to order a bed mat too.
Lots of options. JB Weld is a strong adhesive. Try to place it in a spot out of the way.
I've got some JB Weld. Might try that route if I can figure a way to secure it while it cures. The boot has these little metal pinch "fingers" the length of it, maybe I can cut those out to open a space for a bead of Weld.
