is there a way to test the computer ????

Default is there a way to test the computer ????

is it possible to troubleshoot a computer (odbII) to find out if it's bad???
or when all else fails it's the computer???

1996 Dakota V6 auto

What is the problem? Is it completely dead? Or does it work partly? The only true way to test is a OBDII scanner. But if it is completely dead you can make sure you have the correct power at the input wires to the computer.

the plugs are wet from fuel there is spark and all sensors have been replaced except the MAP sensor I unplugged the MAP and it didn't help... it was running and now just turns over... I will see if I can get a scanner...

A scanner/reader is your best bet if it's not setting/showing codes through the check engine light on the dash...the FAQ section explains how to display and decode the CEL codes.
