Lightbulb To sell or not to sell, that is the question....

I used to drive a Large lifted F150, that was my pride and joy but when gas prices hit $3 a gallon I couldn't afford to fuel the gas guzzling pig that she was, so I sold her.... I regret it everyday. Now I have my dakota, it runs great, is reliable, and best of all gets double the gas milage I was getting with my ford. But I miss having that big truck. I honestly have no need for a big truck other then I want it. SO my question to you guys is - Do I keep my dakota and put a little money into her to make her more appealing or do I sell it and go back to a gas hog? I'm mainly lookin for opinions.

Default Keep the dakota!

you already said that you got rid of the big truck because of the cost of gas and honestly the days of cheap gas will probably will never return. I would take the money you would have to spend to get a big truck and invest it in the dakota. You can always put a lift kit in it to get that big truck feel or start saving your money and buy a big brother ram down the road.lol

it would probably be better to keep the dakota and use the money to keep it regularly maintained...ya never know, with these trucks, when something is gonna go. as a matter of fact my left wheel cylinder just went out as i started my truck up after work today.

Thats a scary thought haha.

I'm leaning more towards keeping the dakota now. I suppose I can do a few things to it and see how it turns out.

I agree with keeping the Dak.Mine is my first truck ever, and with the 318 v8 and 4x4,it does everything I would need a full size truck for and still fits in my garage. What more could you want?

As for mods/upgrades,nose around here a bit.Lots of good ideas.

I'm kinda in the same boat, but to be fair, I've only had my Dakota for three weeks now and aside from some little finicky, nit-picking things I've already addressed, I really like a lot about this truck. Great gas mileage so far (until an EGR code flashed up today, most likely the result of cutting my cat off yesterday and I'll install a fresh one soon,) perfect size, feels solid on the road, relatively comfortable (SLT.)

this is is my first Dodge and dont think i could have picked a better one. I normally buy S10's Camaros and others of the same sorts. since i have had this Dak i havent been wanting to buy other vehicles i just want to fix the dak and make it cooler. i have noticed that a lot of little things tend to go bad but overall i can say it is a great truck to own.
