Well after a lot of experimenting I finally have an exhaust system that sounds good on my 3.9 dak. What I did is removed the cat and stock muffler and put in a glass pack(installed where the cat used to be) and then a thrush welded muffler. The result is exactly what i've been looking for. I'll post a video later this week.

 

I'm running a thrush as well as a cat. At idle sounds like a v8. No complaints here!

 

Nice. We think alike. Right now I have no cat and an IMCO muffler in the stock location but I planned on putting a glasspack where my cat was but Im still not sure of what muffler I'm gonna replace my current one with. And those Weldeds are nice..sounded good on my 4.3 Blazer and sounds amazing on my buddies 93 Dakota.
