Default All I did was!

This all started as an innocent replace 4 wheel drive light bulb. Since the plastic thing over the shifter is not held on with screws I stopped trying to get it off, Im really good at breakie breakie.Pull dash cover check lighter, install new light over ash tray. Noted steering wheel bracket bolts loose thighened them. reassembleed it all. Lighter and light work great, but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, now no wipers, no horn, no bad fuses. Ready to get an oga oga horn, a bottle of deice, and a squugee. I am truely stumped, but as stated pro at breakie breakie .

Maybe a bad ground wire. There are some fuses under the hood, double check those.

Stopped atthe zone and advanced checked on the multi position switch, both had them in stock. Being of the belief that a part readily avaliable at this trucks age there are more than me with some problem going on. Picked one up at the zone just in case. Good news if I have to change it, lifetime warranty. ROFL immediate reply was the friggin part will outlast me. That brought a roar from the four people in the store.

Ground problem? I keep thinking Ive never had loose column bolts before. Wondering if someone did this as a repair. Going to loosen the bolts and see.

Ok now new switch did the same as old. Loosening the steering column bolts a tad brought the horn back. Still no wipers. Durn Itwould help if the wiring diagram in the book had the color codes and not then numbers.Read 12.4 volts at the fuse, 11.7 at the switch.

Sounds like a bad ground some where, especially since you had to loosen the column bolts to get your horn back.

Ok so took it to shop to get door hinge welded, left it overnight tech said no start problem. He replaced a fuse but didnt remember which one and wipers are back. Had him run for codes, result none. His explination for hard start in cold is fuel starve either bad reg gasket or fuel pump. Xmas morning, started great 32+ degrees. This morning no start again? Starts right up with sw.fluid till fuel gets to wherever. I havde been cautioned once you use s fluid it will never start again on cold days. Well what the Chuck if you gottogo towork and itstarts with fluid what choice do you have?
