Default Oil light flickering

For the past week I've noticed the oil light start to flicker once the engine is warm and idling. The oil pressure is fine, oil level is fine, no check engine light, the only thing is the tach fluctuates between 600-700rpm during idle and I think that has something to do with the oil light. When the light starts to flicker I can make it go away by revving the engine a little, the light starts to flicker again when the motor returns to idle rpm. Is this something I should worry about?

Typically it is the oil pressure switch. They fail often, just replace it.

ditto on the oil pressure switch/sending unit. My '92 did the same thing until the sending unit was replaced. It was the #1 cause of the trucks oil leaks too it turned out.

depends on if you have the right tools. i ended up breaking the plastic part off and using a vise grip to loosen the the rest of it.

On the rear of the engine and to passenger side of the distributer. A tall black neck piece with 2 wire plug.

I have been having the same problem. I just got the truck and it was running fine. It would give me troubles sometimes at idle and the oil light would begin flickering. For the past few days it is giving me a hard time starting. Could this have anything to do with it?
