there is some info in the faq but i would suggest Ebay, craigslist, a local truck shop, or weld up your own.

I dont know where mine came from.. it was ont he truck when i got it.. been trying to find one myself, as mines all rusted up etc.

on top of htat, you can see how its sorta bolted to the bumper. I would like to put a winch in there, but not so sure i'd trust it to do much work.

it has 2 little bars connected underneath as well.

if anyone finds a source for an actual proper one, let me know as well. All teh links and such i've chased down have led to dead ends.

it seems to me theres a difference in the body or frame or something within the 1st gens. Like theres body parts/accessories that youcan get for the older 1st gens that oucant get for the early ones. I dont understand what thats about.

The two bars that run underneath the bumper are more than likely bolted to the frame! If they are and the brush guard isnt rusted through then it will be fine to put a winch in there and use it!

i cant recall quite what they are atached to.. i wouldnt wanna put a 10K pound winch to its test tho.. and yeah, im sure the truck and bumper would hold together fine for a few dozen tugs.. but after that.. ?? its anyones guess..

its just not rok solid.. and those bars underneath, well they amount to extra sturdy tent pole posts.

the main point being, i wouldnt wanna out it through any rigorous testing.. and if i wouldnt feel confident doing that, then whats the point? ya know?

i would perfer a rock solid solution to it.. somethign more bolted solidly to the frame itself n all that..

i been thinkin on getting a plasma cutter.. from there, its a matter of fabbing something up. My shop just doesnt have the means to torch it out n all.

I've installed a few winch setups on other vehicles, and have a pretty good idea of what would be ideal and work out good. It jsut sucks i cant find anything sufficient for a stock 91 Kota.

I'll take a pic or two of the bars when i get a chance and show ya what i mean.

I have to agree they are hard to find, if there is any that are not custom built out there. Im looking at building one for my truck since they are hard to find, plus I will build it to the way I want it.
