It depends on the donor springs. The older trucks like 80-down started sagging and the arch may not be more than yours.

I installed a 99 (I think) Ram 2500 leaf springs, it lifted my truck way up. That is where my rear lift comes from, no cheater blocks. 5in or more.

Just use your top leaf and use all the lower Ram 2500 leafs. Also Ram 2500 came in 2 different widths. IIRC 2.5 and 3in, the 2.5 will fit ours.

If your just going for hauling capacity without lift try some 1500 leaf springs.

For me it was worth it tons of lift and way more hauling capacity without the bed dropping. I can tow my 5,000Lb travel trailer with very little drop in the rear. It levels out the truck. Pics in my Album.

i added 2 leafs at a shop and it took took the rear up 2 inches. i imagine the 2500 in good shape would do the same at least. i jacked up the front to match (as you can see by the picture) but adding leafs over the junkyard swap is probable more expensive. Don't know about yours but the 89 sport 4x4 was a bit soft in the rear.

P.S. your gonna love how the truck sticks to the road around turns at high speeds! and mine didn't ride much rougher off-road.

I have a bout four inch difference from the left rear to the right rear and i need to fix it, i am still lookin in local junk yards for some possibilities, i have looked at new leaf springs and they are too expensive for me. if i do get the 2500 i probably should tighten the torsion bars right? i dont haul a whole lot but would like to have the capability to haul larger amounts here in the near future

Simple ratchets will work. Braker bar and penetrating oil like you said. It may be easy if there is no rust ect. It all depends on what you find. They will be heavy so a dolly or a wheel barrel will work if you have to carry it a ways back to the truck.

As for needing to adjust the keys, wait to see what how much it lifts. If needed just use 1 or 2 leafs.

Since your just trying to correct sagging maybe just buy a Add A Leaf kit. AAL are cheep and no need to fight in the yard.

if i wanted to get new leaf springs where would be the best place to get them, the local pick n pull dont have any 1500 or 2500 and it would be a pain to get them off, im not wanting to pay a arm and a leg but from lookin around that looks like its not gonna happen

Most junkyards will pull them for you. You pull's ect are the ones that you do the work.

New will be expensive. Try a Google search I'm sure tons of new places.
Try www.craigslist.org keep checking.

Also you can try a Ford or Chevy 2500, you really just need anything with more arch then yours.
