Default engine rebuild question

so im in the process of getting the engine out of the truck and have been conemplating running a supercharger, or turbo, not too sure yet. not looking for extreme performance or anything, maybe close to 300 or maybe up to 350 hp but not too sure yet. i have the indexed keys installed and runnin 33x 9.5s. planning on putting a 5 speeed in when i get around to finding one. With my engine rebuild, what all can i do to maybe beef it up a bit so that i know im not going to eff anything up. i want to know i am in the clear without messing anything up. do it right the first time ya know. any info on what i could install to keep my gear in check, already planning harland rockers and a mild comp cam. any info you can give me is helpful. have ordered the how to modify and how to rebuild your magnum engines, but im impatient and would like different sources of knowledge also. thanks.

First of all you need to figure out a plan first. If you do go with a turbo or supercharger you will need to build the motor to work for it. Low compression high RPM parts, high performance injectors, custom computer work ect.

If you only want 350 HP you can get by without a forced induction. Buy high end parts, like you would anyway, then have some serious work done on your heads or look at aftermarket, as you would anyway, and spend the rest of the money on an intake, throttle body and all the other go fast goodies.

Stock they run about 225 HP & getting that extra power should be a cinch. You are, however, gonna pay for it. But for what a super or turbo kit, custom at that, will cost, you can do a LOT to one of these engines.

I have a 94 5 spd (5.2M) and had a 95 auto (5.2) and the auto would run circles around it. For speed I would not swap to a manual, just beef up the auto.

Good luck, I am in the middle of spending a bunch of money on mine. All I have left is the engine build and suspension, and everything else.
