The instructions state to cut the hose 1in but I didn't have to when I installed mine. But a few others did.

For the fan I believe the instructions say to cut off the lower half of the fan shroud. I would say just make simple relocation brackets to move the shroud down 2in.

It would be a perfect time to swap in an electric fan for the clearance. I had one already installed so I didn't have to worry.

I have dual universal fans 16in and 15in. I made my own brackets to attach them.

i'm running dual electric fan . i picked one out of a nissan maxima(late 90's i think). it ran well till the left motor seized(too much coolant from the radiator leaking). but even with the one fan still going it keeps it cool in stop and go traffic.
