$30.00 CAI installed on 94 dak.
Here is what I ran into installing it today. Plastic flange did not fit air horn. Fix: Notched for the four projections on T.Body. Studd recess in top of CAI deep and hole smaller than my air cleaner stud. Opened that up, used a ford carrier nut to take up slack. My valve cover hold down bolt has insulated round washer, bracket support CAI is too narrow to allow re-assembly. Fix, cut washer so one side flats on new bracket. Support bracket for filter end not in allignment with recessed nut. Bent bracket additional out & up to keep allignment. Small bolt to attach bracket to CAI is a blind attachment. After 3 tries, fingers coldas hell, I removed the CAI, cut a matching bolt I had spun a die on to chase the threads. installed stud with loctite, new nut easy.

I did this because a chrome air cleaner with a K&n filter costs $128.00 at the zone. If I had gone that way I still would have eliminated the outside air. For 30 bucks + shipping I got my K&N which is a much better filter than all the rest. I have read the na-sayers talking about its not a CAI because it doesnt duct outside but I was after the filter. Also I took the factory duct off and fresh air is blasting right into the filter. Yep no Granatelli or K&N box but I have been checking mileage religiously. My usual drive is around 128 miles. 76 is interstate 20 is getting up into mountain home and back balance is city. Mountain MPG is 10.5 constantly. With all I have done I now have two run days that the truck averaged 19.7 subtracting the mountain miles and the 2 gallons used daily. That 19.7 includes interstate and around town. I run 62-64MPH 1950 RPM, on interstate. The Bonus is it makes the truck run better. I now hold overdrive on some roads that the truck shifted out on before. In short go for it. Im now wondering how long it will take the CPU to adjust to the air flow. By the way the best mileage I could get when we bought the truck was 15.7 and a low of 8.9, which was in 2 wheel drive. Again go for it.
