Do not place power on a ground circuit......just tap into the wire and place the other end of wire to ground........the light should be on when ungrounded...when circuit is grounded the light will go out......Or think of it like this ,use the ground side of a test light and tap into wire, place the tip of your test light to ground, when ignition is on, light will be on,,,,when circuit is grounded by control module the light will go out....
