Default Please help!

Ok fellas i bought a 1993 dakota LE 5.2liter 4x4 ext cab at. I have gave it a complete tune up including new, plugs, wires, cap and rotor, coil, fuel filter, tps, map sensor, thermostat, temp sensor, open element air cleaner with a paper filter. I was getting about 10-10.5 mpg and it has dropped to around the 9mpg mark! what the heck is going on? this truck is driving me crazy! it runs out very good, idles perfect ect. no check engine light, it has the stock 235/75-15 tires at 35psi and true dual exhaust no cats. I drive it 10-11 miles to work each way every day at about 55-60mph. Any ideas are welcomed, Thanks! oh yeah theres 167,000mi on the truck

when you're driving down the road @ 55-60 MPH, what are your RPMs at? Usually, it should be just under 2,000 with the torque converter locked up. Your torque converter might not be locking up thus causing a drop in fuel economy.

Welcome to DodgeForum!

Did you reset the computer after you replaced all those sensors? If not, unplug the battery for 20-30 minutes and then drive the truck on the highway for 15-20 miles.

Also, that exhaust might not be doing you any good. If you really have true duals, then you only have the o2 sensor on one bank, not both. If you want the truck to run efficiently, you need the computer to monitor the A/F ratio of the entire engine, not just one bank.

Also, that open air filter is drawing in all that hot air coming off the radiator, whereas the factory air intake drew in cold air from the front of the truck.

I appreciate the feedback! I am running about 1800-1900rpm's at 55-60 and yes i did reset the battery after the mods, i unhooked the neg batt cable and held the key forward for about 20-30sec. about the air cleaner, you think i should put the stock one back on? also i thought the 93's only had 1 o2 sensor? the truck does have true duals on it, 2.25 inch straight back no cats just 18" glass packs, well the shorty packs. So what do you think i should do fellas? I cant take much more of this 9-10mpg. Thanks again your help is greatly appreciated!
