Hello all,
anyone have any issues with their EGR valves? I am thinking that mine be giving some lack of power and hesitating or more like she wants to stall.

here is my question, where the F@#$k is it? is it buried between the firewall and the engine on the opposite side of the distributor? 3.9L with an auto tran.

the FSM shows nice pictures of it, but I can not find mine. is it a pain to replace?

It is at the very back of the engine, on the intake manifold, on the passenger side... if your truck even has one. I think they stopped using them in 1996, because I have a set of headers on my truck and I purposely got them for a '96 because of the lack of the EGR tube.

But if your truck has one, it will be where I described. You can also look at the passenger side exhaust manifold and see if there is a tube coming off of it.

If you don't have one, check for vacuum leaks causing the hesitation/stalling issue.

thanks for the input on the vacuum leak. I am not finding one. But I think I should keep looking.

 

I am not able to find any Vacuum leaks. I tried using starter fluid and sprayed on the lines near connections. Nothing.

I am annoyed, in that I know that this thing is not running as well as it should.

Any other suggestions that might cause this, I had thought about fuel filter, but... this does not have one.

it has one. its just part of the whole pump/float/filter assembly thing in the tank i do believe.
