Default Tires?

With the stock wheels that come on a 1st Gen Dakota, what is the biggest tire that I can fit on the stock wheels? Also, by increasing the tire size, can the width also be increased on the stock wheels?

Thank You!
Dan

I have 33x12.5 R15 on stock wheels. They can hold a wide range of widths.

most dakotas come with a 15x7" rim either steel, chrome steel or alloy. Tire sizes range from 215/75-15 on 2wds and 235/75/15 on 4wd. You can go as high as a 245/70-15 and maybe possibly a 255; anything other than that, you'll need a bigger rim.

Thank god. I'm hoping after I get my 2" lift I can fit on 31s or 32s.. Im not quite sure I understand how you lift it using a torsion bar or key or whatever it is, or if i can even get any lift from that...

On the 2wd our factory tires size is205/75/15 but the highest we can go would be 225/75/15 before they rub on the frame during a turn.

Yeah, they do. Ive got 31s at stock height and have like no problems other than a tad bit of frame rub with TIGHT turns (99% of the time in reverse or 4WD) and a small rub on the inside of the fender but thats nothing a little hammer couldnt fix lol and honestly I think the tread size and pattern has a lot to do with it so I may be wrong but if you had 31s but they werent aggressive, they might not rub..or as much. But thats just a wild guess haha

With a 2" body lift, what could I fit on then? Considering the tires are aggressive tires.
