1995 Dakota - Headlights on, Buzzer on, Gauges Gie
All,
We have a 1995 Dakota that is having issues when the headlights are on. If the headlight control **** is turned on (which is normal, as you want to see your information panel in darkness), both turn signal monitors are on (not the signals themselves), all gauges drop to zero (speedometer, tachometer, oil pressure, etc), and the door buzzer is on.
If the headlight control **** is turned all the way OFF, the buzzing stops, and the gauges come back to normal, but it is extremely difficult to drive (safely).
This problem has been explained here before in a few posts, but there is never a clear answer.

I wanted to give a shot to replacing the associated fuses and switches, but I'm a little unsure of which ones might cause this. As it only happens when the interior lights are on, it doesn't seem to reason that the headlights themselves are the culprit.
Other suggestions might be a bad ground, but from what? Anything? I don't want to rip apart the dash if there is a possibly easier solution.
I'm love to hear any advice or suggestions. Thanks for any and all help.
Lukas

x2 on the switch, did you try replacing the switch yet? It would be the one on your dash inside the truck. (someone on the other thread mentioned under the hood for some reason?)
You could start under the hood tracing the headlight wires but I doubt that will get you anywhere. I think dash removal is what your going to have to do. Its actually fairly simple to remove. A few screws and its out.
