Best all around tires for these trucks.....
OK,
I know that there will be various different opinions on this one, but I just recently put 4 brand new Michelin LTX M/S2s on my truck and it was night & day versus the old Goodyear Wrangler RT/S I had. These tires are super smooth & quiet, have a great load capacity (I recently hauled 600lb of stuff in the bed of my truck while towing a 2,000 lb trailer and it kept on pulling) and the best wet weather traction imaginable. It rained hard about a week ago while driving to work and I never once hydroplaned & I have a 2WD open diff.
Plus, Michelin has a $70 mail in rebate on all tires right now, so I spend $548 and I'm getting $70 back! I'm not a marketing rep for Michelin, just giving you guys some advice about excellent tires for Dakota's, especially 2WDs.

any tire less that 6 months old works for me...otherwise i have a horrible time driving in the rain. i had goodyear wranglers on my truck which i loved till they got so warn they squealed around low speed turns. and every tire after that i've only had for a year due to misalignment.
Uniroyal liberators - ok
Road runners(fleet farm)- great

I had the Uniroyal Liberators on the '93 until I put the 16" wheels on. They were great. With the 16's, I had Goodyear Wranglers on for a bit. No traction in rain or snow, and that was with 9/32's of tread on them, (they were RT/S's). I now have Cooper Discoverer ATR's, and I love them.
